In Greensburg Indiana Thomas Shaw rides a bicycle fitted with an automobile radio battery and aerial enabling him to listen to his favorite programs anywhere. Neighbors report the device gives him access to distant broadcasts and remains the talk of town.
A robin in Rochester, Indiana, attacked its reflection in a new shiny car. Pedestrians watched as the bird battled the image, undeterred by onlookers. The eerie scene suggested the robin might exhaust itself or perish if the confrontation continued.
A large hangar at Miami Florida burned Friday night in a fire of undetermined origin. Fourteen planes valued at $500000 were lost. Aviation Director Albert Hanson and insurance adjusters lead the investigation into the blaze.

Mrs Belle Jones, 78, died Sunday afternoon at her daughter's home near Gwynneville after a period of poor health. Survived by three children Mrs Parsons Mrs Roy Ash of Greenfield and Ed Jones of Westland one sister and a brother. Funeral services were held Tuesday at Walnut Ridge at two o'clock with Rev John Clawson of Fairland officiating. Burial followed in Walnut Ridge cemetery.

Malcolm Herrington announces the Carthage Auditorium is leased and will operate under his management with new holograph and sound equipment. Shows will run Saturdays for now, with potential three nights weekly, two full shows each Saturday, box office until 8 30 p m, and matinee for children at 2 00 p m. First film is Second Honeymoon with Loretta Young and Tyrone Power.
Pauline Bennington, 13, daughter of Rushville deputy sheriff Paul Bennington, had an acute appendicitis operation last week and is reported to be recovering well.

Congressman Dewey Short of Missouri will address the banquet in the Claypool hotel Riley room, praised as an eloquent speaker and Senate candidate. Mrs. Nora Miller of East Mill Street suffered a severe stroke last Sunday around 8:00 a.m. She slumped in a rocking chair while lighting a fire. Her sister Mrs. Mary Willicut found her unresponsive and notified neighbors. Mrs. Miller has been partly paralyzed and nonverbal since, with condition unchanged Thursday morning.
Miss Esther Geise daughter of Mr and Mrs Curtis Geise southeast of Rushville and Harry Leisure Jr son of Mr and Mrs Harry Leisure southeast of Carthage were married Wednesday at 10 am by Rev George Harris of Little Flat Rock Christian church. The bride wore navy sheer crepe with pink and navy accessories and a Briar Cliff rose corsage. The bride is a Kappa Kappa Sigma member and formerly worked at Hall Thorpe Goodman in Rushville. The couple will reside on a farm northwest of Rushville.
Mrs Harry Musgrove and Mrs Robert Knight attended the funeral services for Mrs Ed Williamson in Shelbyville at the home of her father George Basset. The service honored Williamson who resided in Fort Wayne.
Mr and Mrs M F Lovett visited Miss Mary Lovett in Green Castle where she lies ill in the Greencastle hospital. The Lovetts hope for her quick recovery and plan to return soon.

George B. McNabb Jr. has returned from Florida and will spend ten days with his parents Dr. and Mrs. George B. McNabb and his brother Richard before resuming studies at the Military Institute in Lyndon Kentucky.
Residents of northwest Rush county and parts of Hancock county ask Rush county commissioners to pave a road this summer. The project would grade drainage and lay a black top surface from range line road in Hancock east three miles and one more mile in Rush, ending one mile south of Charlottesville at Two Bridges on the Charlottesville Carthage pike. The effort is led by Charles E. Bush with 36 Hancock signers, and Thomas Nelson heads the Bush county list with 43 signers.
Carthage Service Club plans a large booster meeting Monday night at Carthage High School gym. Senior class mothers will serve dinner. Expected attendees include Lt. Gov. Henry Schricker, conservation officials, Container Corporation reps, Chicago and local business leaders from Newcastle and Rushville. Discussion centers on pollution problems facing the local Container Corporation.
