Houser Named Rural Pott County Jepsen Chair

Hubert Houser of rural Carson named rural Pott County Chairman for the Jepsen for United States Senate campaign. Houser, a farmer and state director of the Iowa Property Tax Association, is a Republican candidate for the Pott County Board of Supervisors. Roger Jepsen, former Lt Governor, seeks the Senate seat next month. Ed Spelman and Dorothy Smith are Jepsen Pott County Chairs for Council Bluffs.

Carsonettes 4-H Elects Officers and Holds October Meeting

The Carsonettes 4-H club met October 16 1978 at Julie Brumleys home. Peggy McMartin was elected president with Robin Keast VP Ruth Strong secretary Michelle Cody treasurer Julie Brumley reporter Kim McMartin historian Amy Wolkens in charge of recreation. New members Kim Allen Marla Bently Marsha Hackett. Marget Young reported on the Council Bluffs district women's meeting in Atlantic. Mrs Pennington and Karen Wakle presented Women of the Bible via slides and talks. Sixteen members and four children attended with mothers present. Mrs Helen Baker gave a macrame demonstration and led a macrame key chain activity. Next meeting set at Peggy McMartins home with lunch served by Julie and Mrs Brumley.

Pep bus fare change notice at Carson building
