Ivadell Forristall and Opal Green are also recovering at J E Hospital and Clarkson Hospital respectively. Gladys Eckert was admitted to J E Hospital in Council Bluffs. A Thanksgiving Day mail schedule, published by Postmaster Harold Spohn, means no regular delivery or lobby service November 23 with pickups from all boxes. Service resumes Friday, November 24.

Veterans Day Service Honors Local Veterans at Carson High

A Veterans Day service held Friday morning November 20 1978 near Carson High School featured color guard, Star Spangled Banner, flag pledge and invocation by Rev Paul Pennington. Students presented poems and thoughts, posters were awarded prizes by the Carson American Legion, and a flag burning ceremony impressed attendees.

Methodist Church Bazaar At Carson United Methodist Church

A bazaar at Carson United Methodist Church features Apples the clown for all ages. The event runs Saturday November 18 from 1:00 to 2:00 PM with lunch 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM. Eight shops offer candy plants cards rugs decorations crafts baked goods and more plus a drawing for a Suzanna Circle quilt.

Men’s volleyball schedule announced at Macedonia gym

Ten teams formed for eleven weeks of Monday night play starting November 20. Rosters and a $25 fee due by November 27. Teams must have four players present within five minutes of game time. Nov 20 schedule includes six thirty Donna Bar against Higgins Corner and five more matches.

The Carson Business Club met at City Hall to plan the December meeting and the town holiday observance. A free movie and Santa will be present Saturday December 23 with treats and a drawing for prizes of 10 dollars each. attendees must be present to win. Pott County Taxpayers Unit Plans Founding Meeting

Pottawattamie County Taxpayers Association schedules its first meeting for Monday November 20 at 7 30 p m at the Fire Station Community Hall in Council Bluffs Iowa. President Frank W Pechacek Jr will oversee adoption of the constitution and by laws formation of work committees and designation of chairpersons. A county wide membership drive will be launched with area chairmen named including Jack Drake Betty Wedel Harold Spencer Frank Pechacek and John Hartog assisting Carter Lake Honey Creek and other communities urged full participation.
