School Site Committee Advances Planned Election Proposal
Twelve members met with the superintendent three school board members and consultants to discuss an election on a new school facility. Petitions require 60 signatures from last vote to trigger a public vote. 122 names were submitted. The board scheduled election day and a brochure was planned to explain needs, facilities, Macedonia improvements, and the tax impact. Community members urged to register to vote in this important proposal for youth and community.

C M High Girls Track Open Season With Medals At Glenwood
C M high school girls opened their season April 11, 1978 at Glenwood placing third among twelve. Medals earned in hurdles relay distance medley and sprints, plus top finishes in shot put high jump and relays. Nishna Valley standings show C M runner up to Nishna Valley by narrow margin, weather cold but golds plentiful.

April 20 at Co Bluffs featured blue ribbon winners Brett Ballinger Dennis Killion Kathie Eckert Al Smith in 50 yard and 220 yard dashes and softball throw. Some students may qualify for the State Special Olympics in Des Moines May 9. Other ribbon recipients included Shellie Fender and David McIntosh with 50 yard dash third place.

Mrs Goldie McKinney was released from Mercy Hospital last week and returned home in Strahan. She is the sister of Inez Colvin. Weaver Fenn remains a patient at J.E. Hospital. Chad Putnam remains ill with pneumonia. Warren Tibbles suffered a serious injury at Mincer Equipment farm when his ring caught on a loader blade. amputation was required and he is at J.E. Hospital. Mrs Barbara Plumb entered J.E. Hospital Sunday evening for tests.
