Street Named for Gov Connally in Carrollton
Carrollton City Council unanimously approved naming a new street John Connally Drive between Arrow Foods and Falcon Manufacturing off Belt Line Road. The decision references Gov Connally’s June groundbreakings during Carrollton’s 50th anniversary, including the Civic Center dedication and International Paper Co. site groundbreaking. Superior Utilities won a $31,759 contract to extend water and sewer to the stadium site, with bidders listed and amounts shown, while a builder’s permit for the stadium was tabled for plan review. The council also discussed city insurance policies with M L Coker and Hubert Eldridge and Coker agreed to redeposit his portion.
