State Fair of Texas Promises Larger Premiums This Year
Farmers and ranchers in the Southwest will reap more premium money at the State Fair of Texas this fall, with total premiums listed at $65,235. The 1940 Premium List invites exhibitors to enter pure bred stock, noting expanded facilities, new swine pens, enhanced stalls for Palomino and Quarter Horses, and the National Aberdeen Angus Show as a highlight. The fair opens October 8 for a 16 day run, drawing about 2 million visitors and featuring 4-H participants and an invitation from Governor Jester to visit the fair.
