Texas Power and Light plans growth in Red River and Cooke counties
The 1951 annual report highlights TP&L plans to add a third of Red River County work and complete the fourth Inn in Cooke County. It cites projected capacity doubling within three years, assisted by the Industrial Development Division boosting new industries in the service area. New facilities include Alcoa plant in Milam County and 14 substations, 30 upgrades, and 52 miles of high voltage lines. Construction expenditures totaled 12,134.48 with 24.7 million expected in 1952. The report notes rate reductions over decades but inflation forced adjustments in 1951.
