Floods Swamp Carrollton After Thursday Downpour
Heavy rains downed across the Carrollton area turning south and southwest territory into a lake. The Trinity river rose high flooding lowlands, washing out the west river bridge approach and a nearby dam road, forcing cattle to higher ground and isolating districts until waters receded Friday night. One death occurred from drowning on Friday morning as residents regained access by Sunday.

Flood Victim Dowd Recovered Near Farmers Branch
Frank Dowd a 62 year old fisherman found dead Tuesday near Farmers Branch after drowning. Witnesses Ee W Brake and J B Milly reported the body snagged by a fence and waist with clothing snagged. Justice Wal ter Stovall presided. Dowd had last been alive when he took his daughter Zona Roan to visit relatives. The family resided at 2727 Throckmorton Dallas.

Funeral services for Carl Leonard Ramey were held Sunday at Rosehill Chapel near Garland. He was born July 17, 1912 and died Feb 18, 1938 while riding near Trinity River bottoms. his body found Feb 19 after a search by J B Lesley dairy ranch workers and Dallas Sheriff's search teams. He leaves Naomi Stovall Ramey and a son Carl Jr, plus parents Mr. and Mrs. J T Ramey and siblings in Carrollton, Monett, Coppell, and Rockwall.
