Allison Woodville Smith veteran Texas pioneer and long time Carrollton resident died Saturday October 4 at his home in Carrollton aged 69. Funeral services held Monday at First Methodist Church Carrollton with Rev D A Rows and other ministers officiating. Burial at Forest Lawn Cemetery followed a large community tribute. Smith, born February 9 1885 in Washington County Tennessee, moved to Texas with his family in 1892. He married Misenda Hardcastle in 1912 and had three sons. He supported civic and farm groups, valued hospitality and unity, and remained active until late life. He is survived by his widow two sons three grandchildren and extended family in Carrollton and nearby towns.
