About 35 residents met with the City Council to seek removal of obscene literature from local book stands. The group formed a Committee for Better Literature and urged the drafting of an ordinance for city control. The meeting also covered street name change, annexation plans, Whitlock Lane land needs, and sewer line permits for Farmers Branch.

Weather Bureau Chief to Retire from Dallas Post
Weather Bureau Chief M C Harrison announces retirement effective December 30 1965 after 40 years in the service. He began as observer in Palestine Texas in 1925 and served as Dallas station chief since 1952 living in Carrollton with wife Mrs Harrison.

LUNCHEON HONORS DR BILL PRIEST WITH CHAMBER OFFICIALS
George Patzig and Jim Kelly attended the North Dallas Chamber luncheon in honor of Dr Bill Priest president of the Dallas County Junior College System. Priest outlined interim facilities by September 1966 and two campuses by 1968 and four by 1972 with travel times under 20 minutes to campuses.

Group Buys Site for Carrollton Shop Center
An investment group named Carrollton Square Associates purchased a 10 acre tract adjoining the Carrollton Highland Shopping Center from D Elden Lunt. The sale, likely the largest in Carrollton in two years, was negotiated by Bill Sanford of Bill Shipping and Company. Plans call for over 120000 square feet of retail space with a total investment exceeding 1.5 million dollars. Leasing will be handled by Hebert Weltzman of Henry Miller & Company.
