First Baptist BTU Meeting Report From Beaumont

Sheriff Richardson offered jail dormitories for sleeping quarters as Beaumont hosted visitors. Dr Gardner and Dr Craig from Dallas aided the spiritual program. Leo Kirby Dies at 24 in Farmers Branch Area
Leo Kirby died on Thanksgiving Day at his home near Farmers Branch at River Bank from typhoid fever. Funeral services were held at the home at 10:30 a.m. on November 26 conducted by Reverends Duckett Wright and Geo Thompson. He was born November 8, 1913 in Gre Town County Texas and was 24 years old at death. He is survived by his wife, sisters Het and Aitee, brothers Clarence Frank and Mile, and three ather s Tuio Reta and Koby. The Kirby family lived in the community for many years and are well known.

The death of Charles Gailde emt eleven month old son of Mr. and Abs. Roy Childress of Lovedale occurred at Radford Hospital for Children in Dallas on Nov. 2. Funeral services were held at Veccate Baptist Church at 130 Tuesday Nov. 10, Rev. SW Edge conducting the services. Interment in Cemetery Hill north of Caxcellton. The boy survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Childress, two brothers, family Sim and Donald, and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Vin Lotus, and grandmother, Mrs. Ethel Childe.
