Breda Fire Department wins a $57,298 grant under FEMA's Assistance to Firefighters Program with a project cost of $63,665. Ninety percent funded by the grant will allow replacement of 20 to 30 year old boots and equipment, add air packs from eight to twelve, and lift overall readiness for the 26 member department. U.S. Senator Tom Harkin announced the award and noted FIRE Act funding at $100 million nationally for its first year.
