Coaching always came first Kuemper mentor retires after 44 years
Terry Sexton of Kuemper Catholic High School retires at age 68 after forty years teaching English and coaching, with most service at Kuemper and 27 years at Des Moines Area Community College in Carroll. He chose teaching over head coaching, emphasizing classroom impact and guiding students toward better paths. Sexton grew up near the Big House in Leavenworth, Kansas, and followed a path through Catholic education, college degrees, and early coaching and Marine training to shape a long career dedicated to mentoring youth.
