Nick Kirsch To Play In 2002 Shrine Bowl South Squad
Carroll football star Nick Kirsch has been selected for the 30th annual Iowa Shrine Bowl. An all-district linebacker and 110 tackle leader in both junior and senior seasons, Kirsch will suit up for the South on July 27 at Jack Trice Stadium Ames. He was a preseason all state pick and academic all state. Bill Kibby Jefferson Scranton will coach the South. Tickets go on sale May 1.

Carroll players Adam Haluska and David Frischmeyer were named to the all-Raccoon River Conference first team for the 2001-02 season. Teammate T J Kasperbauer earned second-team honors. Haluska is a 6 5 senior forward.
Carroll Star Adam Haluska Grabs Third All State Honor
Carroll’s Adam Haluska earned first team Class 3-A all state honors for the third time as Des Moines Sunday Register lists him among the standout players. He surpassed 2,000 career points, averaging 30.0 ppg and 9.9 rpg as a senior in guiding Carroll to a 20-3 season and finishing with 2,209 career points.

Kuemper's Matt Wittry earns academic all-state honor
Kuemper guard Matt Wittry, a 6-1 playmaking senior, was named academic all-state for the 2001-02 season by the Iowa Basketball Coaches' Association. He averaged 12.5 points and 78 assists for the 14-7 Knights, and missed the final month with a broken right tibia.
