Cancer volunteers lobby Iowa lawmakers for funding
American Cancer Society volunteers led by Luanne Kustra and Katie Towers urged Iowa legislators at the Capitol to fund cancer prevention and treatment efforts. About 50 lawmakers attended a luncheon after a briefing at the Marriott. Volunteers sought at least 9.3 million for tobacco prevention, preserve the tobacco endowment, maintain 250000 for Breast and Cervical Cancer Treatment Act, and support fundraising clarity for ACS.
