Hausbarn expands with new leadership and plans
The Manning Heritage Foundation begins a new year under Bruce Markkula as the chief executive, pursuing a major expansion of Heritage Park. The project includes renovating the Leet Hassler farmstead, building a restaurant gift shop and conference center, and hosting the Sixth Annual Platz Deutsche Conference in Manning in October 2003. Fundraising targets exceed 150,000 dollars in cash and pledges plus in kind gifts, with broad support from national and German connections.
