DMACC granted funding to expand nursing programs
DMACC and Mercy College of Health Sciences will split a 2.9 million dollar U S Department of Labor grant via CIETC to expand nursing preparation at DMACC campuses in Ankeny Boone and Carroll. The Health Career Opportunity and Advancement Project will offer free tuition uniforms books and supplies to accepted students.

Letter of thanks to blood donors across Carroll County
A reader thanks Siouxland Community Blood Bank donors for maintaining blood supplies for 25 area hospitals including St. Anthony Regional. The January 21 drive registered 46 donors and collected 41 units with seven new donors. Milestone gifts include James Schwaller five gallons and several others at 13 gallons. The next drive is February 18 at St. Anthony Regional Hospital from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Kris Hartje.
