Westside Firemen Fund Drive For New Station
Westside firefighters raise funds to build a $180,000 4,800 square foot fire hall on Eagle Street near Huebner Funeral Home. The project, funded by private donations and taxes, aims to provide space for five trucks and future equipment. Construction began July 9 with Rotert Construction handling the shell and local trades providing labor and interior work. Community fundraisers include a garbage can feed, a costume ball, a dance, and a New Year’s Eve steak supper. $18,000 have been raised with a goal of $40,000 more.
