Local craftsman announces relocation of his shoe shop to the Cutler building across from Risinger’s hardware. He offers on the spot repairs and promises prompt, workmanlike service with no delays.
The Presbyterian Sunday school reorganized February 13 1910 will hold its first rally day on Sunday October 2 at 9 45 am. A renovated church and decoration committee promise a pleasant surprise with enrollment over 100. attendance expected to reach that figure. Music by orchestra and school, plus responsive readings chalk talk and other features will mark the event. a group photo may be taken after adjournment if weather permits. Everyone is invited.
A schoolmaster offered a prize for a five minute composition on How to Overcome Habit. A nine year old student won by a wordplay answer noting that removing letters from habit leaves a bit then it, and finally all of it, so to overcome habit one must throw it off altogether.

The Ruth Circle of Carlisle Presbyterian plans a Halloween social on Monday October 31 at Pilmer and Ridgway’s hall. Details on entertainment and refreshments will be announced later.
CaneT Sunday at the Christian Church in Carlisle drew 352 attendees surpassing the 300 goal. 184 carried bibles. four new members joined during revival. Rev. L V Barbie led preaching, Mrs J E Powell led singing from Washington DC.
Rev Daniel Ryan and Rev J W Ward attend the Evansville M E conference where the upcoming year’s appointments will be read on Monday to name the Bethel M E church pastor for the next twelve months. Ryan joined Governor Marshall and staff for Antietam monument dedication then went to Gettysburg and the G A R encampment in Atlantic City. Mrs Ryan has been away from Hymera visiting New York and Chicago.
