Paxton Canning Factory Opens 12th Season At Paxton
The Paxton canning factory began its 12th season opening on Tuesday. About 125 acres of tomatoes are contracted at 18 cents per bushel. The year’s yield is lower than before and output will drop accordingly. Full capacity employs 150 people with expenses around 50 per week. Last year 10 carloads about 120000 cans were produced and shipped. This year only tomatoes will be processed. Company officers are W. W. Bailey President J. E. M. Purcell Secretary and Jonas Lad son Treasurer.
