Old Settlers Reunion in Sullivan and Knox Counties
The ninth annual meeting of the old settlers of Sullivan and Knox counties was held Saturday in W. F. Hoke’s grove near Carlisle. Attendees from both counties enjoyed reminiscences, songs, and an address by Will Hays. A deed from 1828 tied Thomas Anderson to Joseph Wilmon for 134 acres at the meeting site. The Carlisle band and Freelandville band provided music, with an ice cream supper and a profitable night program at the Carlisle school yard.

The couple faced a crowd on the Willow Hill train trip and received rice and old shoes as good luck tokens. They plan to start housekeeping at A V Munich's farm four miles southeast of town.
