Chemical Engine Accepted by Town Board
The town bought a chemical fire engine from Obenchain and Boyer of Juogansport. It arrived Friday and was tested Saturday afternoon by E. W. Hicks and Mr. Obenchain. A pine structure saturated with oil was set ablaze, and a stream reached the Squires brick building. Fire chief C. A. Ellis directed the test, and the town board expects lower insurance rates and valuable protection.

New Brick Business House Planned for Ledgerwood Street Site
James Pilmer and George A Ridgway award C B Willis a 4800 dollar contract to build a two story brick business house on the former fire site. The second floor will be a hall with rear Harri son street entrance while Ridgway Whalen occupy the first floor grocery. Completion expected before Christmas with lot clearing started Monday and brick work set to begin next week.
