Smallpox hits Indian Prairie pastor in Carlisle area
Rev. J. B. Bair of Indian Prairie Baptist Church about six miles east of Carlisle is confined at home with smallpox. He fell ill while preaching on Sunday, November 14, causing an early dismissal of his congregation. His son Elvin and the family home are under quarantine and the pastor suspects exposure during a visit to Cambridge City weeks prior.
