James P Walls a Sullivan native died at Union Hospital Terre Haute on Sunday after a yearlong stomach ailment. He leaves a large family, held a 2000 life policy, and was a Church of Christ member. Haddon township teachers institute notes and schedule
The Haddon township teachers held an institute at Carlisle school on Saturday November 16. It opened at 9 a m with E C Howard as chair and included papers on Europe in the nineteenth century ventilation lighting and poetry of Indiana along with discussions led by Howard Conradi Nash and Supt Park. The afternoon covered New Harmony social literary studies and statistical studies with Miss Snapp and Mr McCammon. A motion set that no classes be held on Thanksgiving with the next meeting scheduled for December 21 at Pax ton. Elmer Howard chairman and Fannie Pearce secretary.

John H Johnson wins at Independent Field Trials
John H Johnson, famed dog trainer, returned from Bicknell where three dogs entered the Independent Field Trials last week. In the Members' Stake, his son won first money of 100 dollars with Leading Lady owned by G G Williamson of Muncie Indiana. The event also awarded a handsome silver cup for the best broken dog in the state, to be awarded to Williamson if won three times in succession, and another silver cup valued at 250 dollars to be the property of Mr Piinson.
