Memorial Day Program Observed in Carlisle
Memorial Day will be observed in Carlisle under the American Legion and Ladies Auxiliary. Graves in about twenty nearby cemeteries will be decorated Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday at 2:30. If weather permits the program will be in the school yard. otherwise in the school auditorium. Music by the Oaktown Band. The program includes readings of Lincoln's Gettysburg Address, songs by Legion and Auxiliary quartets, an address by Prof. D T Cushman, and a benediction by Joseph Whalen of the G A R.

Polk Murder Trial Opens in Vincennes
Louis Polk murder case opened in Knox circuit court in Vincennes Indiana with a special judge presiding. The prior two trials ended in a hung jury and a venue request delayed proceedings. Lawyers for defense include James M. House and Samuel M. Emison while Floyd Young leads the prosecution with assistants Joseph Kimmell and Hugh Barr.
