The Cass-Dugger Greys beat the White Sox 4 to 3 Sunday at Dugger in a game famed for remarkable fielding catches. Carl Schmeid er pitched for Carlisle, while Dugger's second inning rally produced all runs as Smith Deane and Jones contributed key hits and a double steal.
Governor Warren T McCray approves a June 7 1921 statewide tax conference in Indianapolis to discuss proposed constitutional amendments on taxation. An education focus will include speakers for and against the amendments with delegates from counties and Indiana press invited to attend.
The Board of State Tax Commissioners sets Thursday May 26 for a public hearing on a 35000 bond issue by Township Trustee Woodward to build a Woodward school on Skinner hill. Hearing at 10 o clock in Carlisle school auditorium. Petitioners represented by Louis Meier. township by Arthur D. Cutler.
Drillers at Jesse Knotts farm two miles northwest of Carlisle struck a gas pocket at 300 feet while testing a hole in the barn lot last week. A strong water flow occurred at about 150 feet, with water spurting up to 15 feet. State law requires casing of gas wells. the casing will stay and the well be capped. The spout drew many visitors to the Knotts property Sunday. residents include Mr and Mrs George Carmichael.
Coleman Nash of Sullivan and Charles T. Jackson of Pleasantville secure the Dodge Brothers agency for Haddon Jefferson and Gill townships and open salesrooms in the old cabinet factory building near the C. and E. L. depot. The firm promises good service on Dodge cars already in use for two years.
Mrs Frank Corbin underwent an operation at the Mayo Brothers Hospital in Rochester Minnesota on Monday. The report from Rochester states she is progressing along nicely.
