The Shaker Prairie Christian church Class No 3 presented The New Minister in the school auditorium Tuesday night to a fair sized audience. About 30 people comprised the cast. The same play is planned for performance in Oaktown tonight.
Frank Robinson of Sullivan and Mrs. J. F. Alumbaugh visited Terre Haute and Sullivan on Friday while J. B. Latshaw made a business trip to Sullivan.
The Sullivan county conscription board received registration blanks and equal receipts from the war department. Forms require full name, permanent home, date of birth, citizenship status, and other details for men aged 21 to 31, with registrars to verify compliance.
The town board decided to tarvia Ledgerwood street between Eaton and Harrison streets and Eaton street between Ledgerwood and Alexander streets. Barrett Company will supervise and start next week, marking the first tarvia streets in the county.
A public farewell in the Carlisle library auditorium honored Supt. O H Greist and his family for their service. Citizens praised their work as Greist heads to Union City with a higher salary and assumes city school leadership. A Masonic reception presented a diamond topped button, and a Christian Bible School party gave Greist a twenty dollar gold piece. The family plans a month in French Lick then Chicago University before Union City duties begin.
