Sox Take Hym era Into Camp 7-6

The Hymera Browns lost 7-6 to the White Sox at Currier Park after an eighth inning surge by Hymera. Cassidy started for Carlisle with three shutout innings before arm pain forced Roseberry to finish. Taylor singled, stole second, and scored on Banks triple in the ninth as Daugherty followed with a hard hit, completing the scoring. Shelburn Greys are due to arrive Sunday with a strong lineup.

Wedding at McConnell Home Unites Eva Sonner and Amos Faught

At the McConnell home Sunday at four Rev Glenn O Mills joined Miss Eva Sonner and Amos Faught in marriage. About fifty guests attended as Irene Stewart played the wedding march. The couple, with roots in Corydon Indiana and Sullivan Indiana, plan to reside in Sullivan where Mr Faught works for Sullivan Milling Company.

Appellate Court Affirms Purcell Suit Over Township High School

The Indiana Appellate Court affirmed Judge Bridwell’s ruling in Purcell v Woodward, upholding township control of the Carlisle Haddon township high school building. It held the trustees and county officials oversee the building and that use of excess space for grade school purposes does not harm the high school.

Bishop O Haver suffers heart trouble in Vincennes district

Bishop O Haver conference superintendent of the Vincennes District suffered a severe heart attack at the M E parsonage last Sunday afternoon after delivering a morning address at the M E church. He received medical care and was later taken home as friends hope for a speedy recovery.

Collins Heidenrich nuptials inform Carlisle residents

Miss Dora Collins of this city and Louis Heidenrich of Terre Haute married at Sullivan last Thursday with Rev. Hoffman officiating. The couple, witnessed by relatives, plan to reside in Terre Haute after a brief Carlisle visit. Heidenrich worked as a meat cutter at August Froome store. Mrs. Heidenrich had been a clerk there.
