Seven Deaths in Seven Days in Haddon Township
Joseph Plummer a well known resident of Haddon township died at his home near Carlisle on March 20 after a two week illness from pneumonia. He was 35 years old. He is survived by his wife two daughters and one son and three sisters. The funeral was held Saturday at his home with burial in Trimble cemetery. Bessie May Hamton infant daughter of Arthur and Mayme Hamton died March 17 after a short influenza illness at 22 days old. Burial was in Shepherd cemetery on March 18.

Virgil Booker, long time town marshal of Carlisle and former street commissioner, resigns after weeks of absence and criticism over alleged drunkenness and neglect. He came from Paxton to assume the office a year ago and will move to his next home. The town board has not yet named a successor. decision expected at the April 3 meeting.

Jury Breaks Speed Records in Sullivan Court
A Carlisle attorney Louis Meier sued William A. Blevins for 100 as attorney fees claiming Blevins owed him after a Knox Circuit court suit against James McArthur for 650 in damages. The case began at 1 PM and the jury deliberated briefly before returning a verdict at 3 20 PM with one ballot kept.
