Vincennes Man Purchases Curtner Drug Store

L. J. Winegar of Vincennes buys Curtner Drug Store from the First National Bank of Carlisle. The sale ends the Curtner era. W. J. Curtner retires and his son Ed stays on under new ownership. Winegar plans to move his family in June after schools close and continues the store as Winegar Drug Store.

Speake Leaves Carlisle for Indianapolis Business Start

Terrell B. Speake, once a Carlisle grocer who sold his store to Harry T. Alumbaugh about a year ago, has started a new wholesale produce business in Indianapolis. He formed a partnership with his uncle Lou Speake, visited Carlisle to attend to matters, and planned to return to Indianapolis soon.

Morris Gibbs wed at Carlisle M E parsonage

Miss Pearl Morris and Otto Gibbs tied the knot Saturday at four at the M E parsonage in Carlisle. Rev. S Reid officiated. The bride is daughter of Mr and Mrs George Morris. the groom is son of Mr and Mrs Charles Gibbs of the Walker farm near Bethlehem. They will live with Gibbs' parents.

Carlisle Man Acquitted of Theft in Knox Circuit Court

Thomas Solen of Carlisle Indiana was acquitted after a full trial on grand larceny charges stemming from the alleged theft of a Rockville attorney Harold Hendersons suitcase on a southbound train. Edward Johnson testified for the state while Johnson turned state evidence.

Young Banker Takes Wife in Sullivan Marriage

Roy Kimble and Miss Eunice Payne were united in marriage in Sullivan on Tuesday. Justice John Watson performed the ceremony. The couple went to Sullivan in the morning and returned to Carlisle in the afternoon.

Local Couple Weds in Jefferson Township

Mr and Mrs J A Payne of east of Carlisle are noted as popular in Jefferson township. The groom, son of William Trimble of Haddon township, has been the assistant cashier at First National Bank. They plan to live in Dr David F Shake property on South Ledgerwood street after a Sullivan 0 arrival. They were greeted by many well wishers as they began married life.

Tuberculosis Claims Young Man Near New Lebanon

Jessie A. Andrews, a young farmer from near New Lebanon, died Sunday after long illness with tuberculosis. Born October 4, 1889, he was 25 years, 5 months, 17 days old. The son of Winfield S. Andrews. Funeral held Tuesday afternoon and burial at Burnett cemetery.
