Easter falls on March 27 this year with early dates possible as March 22 historically. Moon cycles since 1786 to 1918 show only rare earlier Easter alignments while late dates like April 25 occurred in 1886 and recurred in 1943. The Easter rule ties to the first Sunday after the first full moon following the vernal equinox and the timing of vernal equinox on March 21.
T. C. Woodward the township assessor and Harvenman bought 15 acres adjoining their farms from Will Latshaw of Oaktown for 60 dollars per acre. Woodward plans to clear and enlarge his truck farm with his portion.
An examination will be conducted at Paxton school on Saturday March 19. The event assists students aiming to graduate from the common branches. JOE LACHY.
Telegrapher Hamilton Gray returns from Oaktown and several locals are noted with visits by Rev. Wm. F. Russell and others. The main feature reports Indiana flour underweight allegations, with eight brands tested. foreign flour heavier on average. State official H. E. On a sunny March morning Uncles Dave Haddon and Jimmie Lisman dug worms from the garden and fished Busseron creek. Early-season luck is uncertain, but experts expect some fish remain for future outings.
The March term of the Sullivan circuit court opens Monday March 1. Grand jurors include Merrill Fairbanks Dodge rth y Turman Barcus Corbin Hunt and others with extras noted. Petit jurors list Abrams Bennett Morgan Gettinger Nash Phillips Conroy Padgett Dailey Drake Eaton Bedwell Banther Clayton Bennett Stark French among extras. Grand jurors to appear March 22 and petit jurors March 23.
Mrs. Ella Rapp of Seymour visited Monday with her son Garfield Rapp and family west of Carlisle. Fred Hadley, a Carlisle Coal and Clay Co mine employee, spent Sunday with his family in West Terre Haute. William Bowers of Brownsville Oregon arrived Monday to stay several days with his nephew Garfield Rapp and family west of town.
