Last Increment of First Draft To Start to Camp March 29
The War Department orders ninety five thousand men for induction into training camps beginning March 29 for five days. The move includes twenty eight thousand nine hundred southern negroes in northern camps and conscripts from Indiana and Sullivan County. Some will fill vacancies from deaths and withdrawals.

Wind lashes Carlisle as tornado roars through Ohio and Indiana
A strong wind toppled structures in Carlisle with major damage at the Pilmer & Ridgway corner where a fire wall was torn out. A large scuttle hole cover blew from the Masonic building roof to the Griffin Hardware roof. Porches at J E M Purcell home lost lattice work. Sullivan reports broken plate glass windows in the business district amid townwide damage.

S Mavity Dies in Indianapolis
S Mavity formerly resident of this city died at his home 1035 Elm street Indianapolis on Thursday March 7 after an illness of two months. He leaves a wife and one son and was a member of Carlisle Lodge No 50 IOOF. Remains were taken to Bedford for burial Saturday.
