iG P Reeves of Terre Moet McNutt and 599 others were guests of Dr F L Robbins and family. Mrs H L Gobin and her daughter visited Terre Haute relatives for the day.
The state of Indiana on relation of Haddon township school seeks 5000 dollars from J F Sproatt trustee of Haddon township in circuit court. Judgment for 5000 demanded after 1910 books examined by state board of accounts. Sureties listed include Salathiel Boone Claude A Ellis G W Pirtle Ed W Akin T O Ellis Charles T Akin John W Cooper and T S Risinger. Total alleged misappropriations amount to 4453.35.
R T Willis sues J I Sproatt to stop entering a contract with Carlisle School Board for a high school build and to force an election. Judge Bridwell took the matter under advisement after a demurrer and bond from plaintiffs George B Willis and Bluford Dailey. Temporary injunction granted until next Monday awaiting decision.
In Squires Court a default judgment was entered in the suit on account of J. W. Bedwell against Chas. Lockhart for $3.00, by Squire Wheeler.
The case of Bedwell against Arthur Lemmon is scheduled for a March 16 hearing at two o'clock in Squire Wheeler's court.
Miss Mabel Douthitt daughter of Mr and Mrs Isaac Douthitt of Jefferson township and Harry Humbaugh formerly of Freelandville now in Dayton Ohio were married at the Indian Prairie parsonage on Wednesday afternoon. A wedding supper was served at the bride’s parents home. The couple will reside in Dayton Ohio.
C T Akin Jr spent Sunday in Indianapolis area. Arista Douthitt from Terre Haute visited from Friday to Sunday. Christian Bible School invites attendance on Easter Sunday at 9 27 AM. Harry Ridgway of Johns Pottery Co Indianapolis attended his grandfather John's funeral Sunday. BY
John H Ridgway a longtime Carlisle resident died at his daughters home in Carlisle after a short pneumonia illness. He was born February 15 1835 at Shaker Prairie and joined the Shaker Prairie church in 1854, later returning to Carlisle. He married Rachel Watson in 1861 and leaves eight children, three sons Frank B Haster C and Minnie among survivors, plus a brother Samuel and several grandchildren. Funeral held at Christian church with interment in Eagle cemetery.
Sedgwick Akin comes home shoreday of last week after staying with his father Senator C. T. Akin in Indianapolis for several days.
John Brayh es receives word from the Pension Department in Washington DC that he will get 414.98 dollars back on a recently granted pension. Mr and Mrs E L Horstman and daughter Geneva of Mem came Friday to visit Joseph Hume and family and other relatives.
