Pleasantville seeks to keep post office despite planned closure
Pleasantville residents protest a Postal Department order to close the local post office on March 15. Postmaster James Mitchell asked for a ten day extension and a citizen nominee to replace him if extended. Carlisle officials will forward the plan to the department hoping for a delay or reversal to avoid mailing duties shifting to Carlisle.

Experienced Musician With Popular Orchestra
Nelson Schroeder plays saxophone flute and piano and arranges for Bud Cromwell's novelty orchestra. He started as a Terre Haute flute player, studied piano harmony and composition in Chicago, and worked with Rudolph Wurlitzer's Symphony Orchestra under Signor Alberto Salvi. He recently joined Bud Cromwell's group and is valued in Terre Haute's leading dance orchestra.
