Carlisle Lodge No. 50 observed Memorial Day with grave decorations in nearby cemeteries and an afternoon program at the joint high school auditorium. Judge James L. Harmon of Elkhart Indiana delivered the address on In Commemoration of the Dead after a service featuring solos and a male quartet.

Mrs Mason Dies From Kitchen Fire Injuries
Mrs Gertrude Mason wife of farmer Robert Mason of Gill township died Saturday at 10:30 AM from burns and injuries after a kitchen range can exploded while starting a fire. Mason and neighbor Wid Thompson helped extinguish flames. Mason and Thompson suffered burns. She leaves husband and two sons.
