Burglar Steals $20 From Mrs Akin Home in Evansville

A burglar entered the home of Mrs H J Akin at 624 Walnut Street Saturday night and stole a savings bank containing about $20. Mrs Akin and her mother were inside until late, and the missing bank was noticed when she awoke Sunday to find a window screen pulled out.

Brass band formed in town with weekly rehearsals

The town organizes a brass band after discussions among boys and young men. Most members have purchased instruments or will do so soon as instructors Vernor Johnson and Floyd Bair prepare sessions. Meetings will be held twice weekly on Monday and Thursday nights in the opera house.
