Children Examined at Carlisle Clinic by State Board and Red Cross
Sixty three children were examined at the Carlisle Child's Clinic conducted by the Indiana State Board of Health and the Red Cross. Officials praised local interest and noted physical, mental, and weight assessments. Expanded tonsils, dental issues, and under or over weight appeared. Pleasantville and Paxton clinics examined 23 and 39 children respectively.

Mary E. McCammon born February 19 1850 died July 22 1922 aged 72 years five months and 38 days She married James McCammon October 10 1871 She leaves two sons Dudley and Harry McCammon one sister Mrs John Conway of Pimento Indiana three brothers Benjamin Maynard Seelyville Indiana John Maynard Oaktown Indiana and David Maynard Lewis Indiana ten grandchildren and many relatives and friends.

George Thompson Dead
George Benton Thompson, a former Gill township resident, died Friday at his son’s home in Sullivan. Funeral services were held at Rose Chapel Sunday afternoon. Interment followed in Webb Cemetery. He is survived by three sons.

Barn Struck by Lightning Near Paxton Mine
A barn owned by Clem McCammon south of the Paxton coal mine was struck by lightning during a Sunday rainstorm and destroyed. Insurance will cover the loss. no injuries reported.

Joseph T. Howard born May 11 1840 in Jefferson township died Tuesday at his son Minor Howards Carlisle home after a weeks illness He served in Company K 80th Indiana Volunteer Infantry and was a long time Odd Fellows member Funeral conducted at Indian Prairie Baptist Church with interment at the adjoining cemetery He is survived by two sons Minor and Neal and several grandchildren and great grandchildren plus five brothers and one sister.

Blevins Family Mourns Death of Eight-Year-Old Resident
James L. Blevins aged 8 3 years died at the home of his son Lee Blevins in Michigan City after years of ill health. He had lost a hand and a foot in prior years and his wife died while visiting Michigan City. Survived by three sons W G Blevins Carlisle James Gary and Lee Michigan City. The body was brought to Carlisle and Freelandville for funeral in the Christian church with interment in Freelandville Cemetery.
