Fined For Tormenting Jack South
Carlisle town marshal Booker took several local youths on assault and battery charges against Jack South a feeble minded boy. Guy Savier pled guilty and was fined 1 dollar plus 10 dollars costs totaling 11 dollars and paid. Dick Cole followed with the same plea and 11 dollar total paid or stayed for thirty days. More arrests on the charge are expected.

Raid on Card Room Yields Guilty Pleas in City Court
Town Marshal Virgil Booker led a Saturday raid on a card room in the Shepherd and McCann building. Two men, Joe Donnely and Walter Meese, pleaded guilty to unlawfully visiting a gambling house, were fined $5 plus costs, $15.25 total, with fines and costs stayed. Four others, Howard Shofstal Bert Arnett W B Shepherd and Elmer Dunbar, pleaded not guilty and bond set at $50 each for trial on Saturday August 3.
