Crowder Wins Sullivan County Auditor Verdict
Theodore E. Slinkard of Bloomfield ruled in Ben C. Crowder versus E. E. Russell that Crowder is entitled to the Sullivan county auditor’s office from March 28, 1908. He awarded Crowder 1256.25 dollars in back salary and declared the 1901 law changing the office takeover unconstitutional. Russell appealed to the state supreme court.

Marion Robbins Spencer Dies at Woodmere Hospital
Marion Robbins Spencer born February 3 1852 in Sullivan county died July 19 1908 at Woodmere Hospital Evansville after years as an inmate. He was 56 years 5 months 16 days old. Interment followed at Robbins cemetery near Paxton after services at his brother John Spencer’s home conducted by Rev Ryan. He is survived by one sister and three brothers.
