Man Drowns at Gravel Pit Near Emison
Otto Gallian 31 a C and E I lineman drowns in a gravel pit lake south of Emison while swimming with fellow linemen. He dived from a log, cramps struck on contact with cool water, resuscitation failed, body sent to Center Hill Indiana for burial. Survived by wife and two children. Gallian worked with a lineman gang laying wires for telegraph poles near Carlisle.

One hundred fifty settlers from Indian Prairie gathered at Bert Booker’s home for a Sunday noon picnic dinner honoring P R Booker of Fitzgerald Georgia a Sullivan County native. Booker served three years in the 21st Indiana heavy artillery and since 1898 has belonged to Fitzgeralds Old Soldiers Colony founded by the National Tribune.
