Carlisle Loses to Vincennes in Seventh Inning Rally

Vincennes staged an eighth inning rally at Currier Park to beat Carlisle 9 to 6. Carlisle led 3 0 after three, then saw Vincennes surge with five runs in the eighth as Dilley was retired and Mathewson allowed the late scoring. Cassidy and Taylor led Carlisle hitters with Matty contributing two, and Shephard drilling a triple. Carlisle will play Robinson, Illinois, Sunday with old players back to try to challenge.

Tragic Drowning of Philip Pielemeier at White River

Reports say Philip Pielemeier, a well known young farmer from Hindostan Falls, drowned in White River after a late day swim. A large search, including crowds and dynamite, failed to locate the body. He was born August 27, 1892, Freelandville, and later moved to Hindostan with his family.
