Mrs. Alice C. Giboney left Saturday for Boulder Colorado to attend the State University and visit friends for about two months.
Mrs. J H Wilson comes back Sunday evening after visiting her daughter Mrs. Charles Kitchen and the Kitchen family in Terre Hauté.
Carlisle trustees met in the joint high school building with only two members present. Street work included notices for concrete sidewalks on Singer Street. The treasurer reported $3 402 41 on hand. Bills approved covered gas bonds, clerk and street commissioner wages, lighting, town attorney, health secretary, pump repair, and hauling.

Joe Wallace buys the pool room from George Hunter who came from Dugger about a year ago to run the business. Hunter has acquired a half interest in a skating rink that was located in Loogootee until recently.
Mrs C L Whalen and her son Joe spent Friday afternoon in Sullivan, sharing time with locals and enjoying the town.
The Sullivan County Board of Commissioners met in special session to hear a remonstrance against wet Jackson township. Nine saloons operated from the start. one license expired July 3 1916 leaving eight. With license terms limited to 90 days, all eight will close within the period, making the county dry.
In a local court Monday, Jacob Rooksberry sued Hicks and Shepherd for 65.00 for a gasoline engine. The court awarded judgment to Rooksberry, the defendant appealed to the circuit court. Attorneys were Arthur D. Cutler for the plaintiff and Bedwell and Harris for the defendant. Also, Bert McGinnis was fined 1.00 plus 3.55 costs after pleading guilty to assault and battery in Squire Cowle's court. both McGinnis and Organ live in the Smith addition.
