The replevin suit of Chas. E. Case against Wm. A. Blevins was compromised and dismissed at Sullivan before Squire Martin. Case received the bicycle and paid Blevins for damage done to a seine borrowed, with the bicycle held as security for any further damage.
A promotional notice for the Home Gold Cure, claimed to cure alcoholism without danger or nerve weakening. It touts a soluble remedy that can be mixed into tea or coffee, sold for one dollar with full directions, and promises medical guidance on request. The ad urges readers to act now and addresses wives and children to help loved ones.
The advertisement claims thousands recovered health and happiness using Chamberlain’s Cough Remedy. It urges those with threatening lung trouble to try it, asserting past cases resisted by other remedies were permanently cured.
Frank Greenfield of Fort Scott Kansas perished in Brazil while seeking trace of his brother Alfred Greenfield who died earlier in the same expedition. The two Kansans, sons of Uncle Ellis Greenfield, joined a 1898 party from Kansas City to map rubber concessions in Mato Grosso.
O W Wakefield of Columbus Ga touts Chamberlain's Colic Cholera and Diarrhoea Remedy as unrivaled for stomach and bowel troubles. He claims two cholera morbus cases cured in his family and that he has sold hundreds of bottles to satisfied customers. Sold by Anderson.
