Citizens urge immediate action to replace the ramshackle Carlisle school building. They argue bond limits and potential private funding ideas, noting the 1857 structure, poor heating, vermin, and danger to children, calling on fathers and mothers to investigate and finance a safer facility.
The News office printed new directory cards this week for The Car Isle Co operative Telephone Co. containing 231 names from Haddon Jefferson Gill townships and some Knox county residents. Revenue terms require rent paid by the 15th of each month. service will be discontinued for late payments.
