C W B M Banquet Highlights Carlisle Women’s Efforts
The Christian Women's Board of Missions held a banquet at Palmer & Ridgway hall in Carlisle with about one hundred attendees. The program featured toasts on what Christ has done for women and what women are doing for Christ, plus sections on medical benevolent evangelistic educational work led by named speakers. Mrs. O H Greist, society president, closed with remarks.

Drug Store Closed Under Mortgagee Action
The Curtner Drug Company owned by John S Shepherd was closed Friday noon by mortgagees Chas Leich & Company Evansville after Shepherd failed to meet financial obligations to W J Curtner. Leich & Company hold the stock mortgage and plan to sell the stock to satisfy creditors. Hugh McNair remains to guard the stock until sale. The store will stay closed until then.

Deaths of the Week in Pleasantville and Carlisle
Mrs. Maria Lester of Pleasantville died from tuberculosis while visiting her daughter in Sullivan. Julia Catharine Collins died in Sullivan County at 83 after long service in the community. Mrs. Minnie Meng of west of town died after pneumonia. Burials occurred in Pleasantville Bethlehem and Carlisle Oakland I O O F cemeteries. Services led by local ministers.
