The Rev. Cady of Allendale Illinois will fill the pulpit at the Christian church Sunday morning and evening. Everyone is invited to attend these services.
The nitroglycerin plant six miles west of Robinson was wrecked by a 1:30 pm explosion of 600 quarts of explosive. Local manager H. W. Kendall and worker Harry Michael escaped danger as Stoy, Illinois, nearby, was rattled but suffered little damage. The blast reportedly resulted from an overheated mixer. loss is limited to on-hand explosive and plant damage, with oil fields Crawford and Lawrence counties affected. This marks the third destruction of the factory in fifteen months.
The Haddon Township Farmers Institute hosted a joint Corn Show and Poultry Show at the high school building drawing over five hundred attendees. Purdue representative Louis Taylor spoke on Silas and Soil Improvement, followed by Flora Meeks on Textiles, with officers elected Daniel V. Helms as president and W. A. Gobin as secretary. The event, led by Ivan T. Beck and W. T. Alsop, aimed to promote pure stock breeding and a permanent township poultry organization.
