In Carlisle the town board met with little business beyond claims. The meeting discussed fire limits and an unfiled claim by Town Marshal Ed Eslinger. James M Wortman sues the David C Wortman estate claiming half the farm property and $1500 in personal property. The case, before Judge Henderson, was taken under advisement.

Court Bill Could End Sullivan and Greene Circuit Court

State senator C T Akin of Carlisle introduces a bill to abolish the Sullivan and Greene circuit courts and appoint one circuit judge per county. He says the measure responds to demand from litigants and lawyers to ease court docket congestion.

Levee Ditch Proposed Along Busseron Creek Near Carlisle

J Frank Alumbaugh and fellow Haddon township landowners sue Nar cisus Vester to force a dredge ditch and levee improvement on the west bank of Busseron Creek. The plan would affect about 500 acres west of Carlisle. Arthur D. Cutter is counsel for the plaintiffs.

Fire at Snapp residence near BE and T depot

A neighbor reported a fire at about six o clock Monday morning at the Ransom P. Snapp home near the BE and T depot. Residents quickly contained the blaze with minimal damage, believed to have started from chimney sparks. the fire alarm was not sounded.

Entertains Club Guests in Embroidery Gathering

Miss Aurelia Risinger hosted the Young Ladies Embroidery Club at her home on Wednesday afternoon with fine needle work and music. Dainty refreshments were served. Guests included Mrs. Emery Smith of Indianapolis and Miss Lillie Shake. The next meeting will be at Miss Marguerite Whslen's home.
