Thieves forced entry to J. F. Alumbaugh & Co hardware store Thursday night stealing apparel from salvaged stock, razors, and watches. Fragments of old clothing found near Carlisle mill Friday morning. Two strangers seen near the depot Thursday evening and again Friday early hours. one wore new clothing. They disappeared along the E T H right of way. Police notified along southern towns but no trace yet.

Obituary of Mrs James H Black near Carlisle
Mrs James H Black died at her home about ten miles northeast of Carlisle on December thirty first after a short pneumonia illness. Born in Uniontown Pennsylvania on April nineteenth eighteen forty, she moved to Indiana about twenty years ago. She joined the Norwich Ohio Presbyterian church at sixteen and lived a devout Christian life. Survived by her husband a son Or A Black of Effingham Illinois and a daughter Mrs W F Nieste of Carlisle. Funeral at Carlisle Presbyterian church conducted by Rev Elliott H Whittaker, interment in IOOF cemetery.
