Death of Helen Pauline Shepard at Oaktown
The obituary notes the December 29 1905 death of Helen Pauline Shepard daughter of Mr and Mrs P K Shepard of Oaktown after a week long pneumonia. Funeral services were held at her grandfather H J Shepard's residence with Rev J E Trout officiating and interment in Oaktown cemetery. Pall bearers were relatives and friends. Mrs Shepard formerly Marion Jenkins. A separate drainage petition was filed in Sullivan circuit court by Chas Bond Nora McClure John Lynch Leona Prather and Joseph Lats haw against multiple defendants seeking drainage from Busseron Creek to Thompson farm with a $500 bond posted and February 8 return day.

Cauble Returns from visit. plans Indianapolis law course
James R. Cauble of Vincennes visited J. F. Almbaugh and family last week. Ros returned to Vincennes Saturday and left for Indianapolis to finish his course at the Indiana Law College. He expects to graduate this spring and may settle in Jackson Mississippi where he owns a 1200 acre plantation.

New County Commissioner Sworn In

Adulteration Trail in Olive Oil and Vinegar Findings
State chemist H E Barnard reports that about 38 percent of 105 olive oil samples are pure, with many adulterated by cotton seed or peanut oil. He notes imported olive oil is rarer adulterated, American-made oils common. Vinegar analysis shows 91.7 percent impure with grain or spirit vinegar plus caramel coloring. 48 percent fall under 4 percent avidity standard.

John D. Rowe of Pleasantville files suit in Sullivan circuit court Saturday against Jacob Billman and son Dr James M Billman of Sullivan for 300 damages.
