Mr and Mrs Lee Jenkins returned home Wednesday from Indianapolis where they had been visiting relatives. Mrs B F Horstman of Vincennes also returned home Sunday after visiting her sister Mrs Joe Hume.

The bride, a former Paxton area teacher and Carlisle High School graduate, will retire from teaching this week. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Trimble and they will live with his parents temporarily.
Arthur V. Kresge of T. S. Risinger Undertaking and Hardware in Carlisle has passed the state embalmers examination, earning a license. He joins longtime licensee T. S. Risinger in the same Carlisle firm, with several years of prior training under Risinger.
L. J. Winegar and Vernor Johnson, elected as clerk and treasurer in November, will assume duties at a special board meeting next Monday at noon. Winegar replaces George A. Ridgway as board president after two terms. Johnson continues as treasurer, succeeding Daniel V. Angel who resigned in 1916. Holdovers are Charles A. Schu and Harry D. White.
Paul Shepherd, rural letter carrier on Motor Route A out of Carlisle, resigns his position effective once a permanent or temporary replacement is appointed. He was transferred from Farmersburg when the route started and served the Carlisle office’s largest motor route with excellent satisfaction.
Mrs. Edith Polk and her son Steele of Oaktown visited Carlisle Thursday afternoon of last week while Pleasant Shake was in town in a Sulli van.
